Founders Weekend · Session templates

Nobody starts on a blank page.

These are the prompts students fill in on CofounderJr. Nothing is printed: before each sprint, read the session’s template out loud with a quick example while it is on the screen, then laptops open and students fill it in on CofounderJr. Use this page to rehearse.

Session 1 · Opportunity

Prompt list

  1. What my parents spend money on for work: __.
  2. What my parents spend money on for fun: __.
  3. What I and my friends spend money on for fun: __.
  4. Five to ten ideas, each one something people already pay for. Not fifty.

Session 1 · Opportunity

The three checks

  1. Ability to pay: name the person with the money, not the person who thinks it is a nice idea.
  2. A reachable group: a clear niche who know each other, go to the same places or follow the same accounts. Hunters, not everyone.
  3. Feasibility: something you can deliver, or take payment for, by Sunday. No nanobots.

Session 2 · Offer

The offer, layer by layer

  1. Layer 1: I sell __ (what) to __ (who) for $__ (price).
  2. Layer 2: …and if you are not happy, __ (the guarantee).
  3. Layer 3: My costs are $__, so I make $__ on each one.
  4. Layer 4: How the first customers pay for finding the next ones: __.

Session 3 · MVP

Landing-page sections (they write the Lovable prompt)

  1. Hero: the offer sentence as the headline, and the price.
  2. How it works: three short steps from paying to getting it.
  3. Who we are: one line about you and why you are doing this.
  4. Delivery: when and how the customer gets it, and the guarantee.
  5. Pay: one button to a one-time Stripe checkout.

Session 4 · Sales Validation

The sales rules

  1. No selling to your parents, guardians or anyone who lives in your home.
  2. Parents can't sell for you: no posting to their networks, no passing it round at work, no pitching their colleagues. A parent can give you a name; you make every ask yourself.
  3. Only payments through your CofounderJr Stripe link count. No cash, no buying your own product, and a refunded sale comes off the board.
  4. Every sale has a buyer in your ask log. Guides can take any sale off the board.
  5. Never go anywhere alone. Calls happen with a mentor beside you.

Session 4 · Sales Validation

4a · Referral script

  1. Hi __, I'm starting a business this weekend: __ (the offer sentence).
  2. I'm not asking you to buy. Who do you know who might want this?
  3. Could you send me their name and number, or introduce us?
  4. Goal: ten friends and family on the list, twenty referrals out of them. Build the list first; call nobody yet.

Session 4 · Sales Validation

4b · Cold-call scripts

  1. Referral call: Hi __, __ said you might be interested. I'm __, and I sell __ to __ for $__. Would you like one?
  2. Ordinary cold call: Hi __, I'm __, a student founder. I help __ with __ for $__. Is that something you'd pay for?
  3. Either way, end on a clear question with the price in it, then stop talking.
  4. Log it: yes, not yet with a follow-up time, or no, in their words.

Session 4 · Sales Validation

4c · Cold-email template

  1. Subject: __ for __ (what, for whom).
  2. One line on who you are, one line with the offer sentence and the price.
  3. The page link, and one question: would you like one?
  4. Calls come first. Emails rarely get answered over a weekend.

Session 4 · Sales Validation

The ask log

  1. Who I asked: __. How I asked: __ (call, in person, message, email).
  2. What they said, in their words: __.
  3. Yes / not yet (follow up at __) / no / no reply.
  4. After five no's, the one thing I changed: customer / price / promise.

Session 5 · Delivery Plan

Plan to $10K, on a napkin

  1. My price: $__. My cost: $__. My profit on each one: $__.
  2. Sales I need to make $10,000 of revenue in 90 days: $10,000 ÷ $__ = __, or about __ a week.
  3. Where those customers come from: __ (the channel that worked this weekend).
  4. How I deliver on the sales I have already made: what, when and who does it.

Session 6 · Pitch

The five beats

  1. My business, and the problem it fixes.
  2. My offer, in one sentence, with the price.
  3. My page: show it live.
  4. What happened when I asked, what I learned and what I changed.
  5. My delivery plan and my path to $10K.

Every day

End-of-day reflection card

  1. What I built today: __.
  2. What I learned: __.
  3. What changed after feedback or a “no”: __.
  4. What I will try next: __.

Every session

Feedback stems

  1. I like __ because __.
  2. I wish __.
  3. What if __?
  4. Answer every one with: “Thank you, tell me more.”
